in the summer time.

The Manor House and the

Park is under protection by

The National Board of

Antiquities and Historical

Monuments, the old trees

are also under natural

protection.

The first trees were planted at the same time when the house was built, about 200 years ago, and there are still left some of those old oak trees. We have here about 20 different trees and bushes, mostly typical park trees; oaks, maples, lindens, ashes , three pines, one larch, one horse chestnut and 5 very rare künna trees.

Park plan is very typical for that age—straight road to the manor house with trees both sides, big lawn in front of the house, roads both sides of the lawn and trees surrounding the lawn. Then straight streets at the park, big trees beside-we have oaks at the one side, lindens at the other side. Pond is “must”, we have 3 ponds. The front yard was for the visitors, the back yard for the manor house owner. So we have river at our “own side” and also fountain back of the house, it was never allowed to build the fountain in front of the house!

Of course there are lots of ruins in the park — buildings that have disappeared. Mostly burned around the world war two.

But we try to save every tree in the park, even those who are broken, so that it is seen where they were. The park is very beautiful, different in all seasons! When the lindens are blowing, the smell is marvelous, horse chestnut flowers – they are just fantastic, and we have lot of jasmines. And of course in the spring time—wild tulips, cowslips, for get me not – in may the park is blue and yellow, later wild lilies all over the park.

There are lots of birds staying here in our fields at the autumn (also those who rests here in the spring).  In this autumn a saw more than 200 geese in our fields, just eating and resting before going to the south. When the whole swarm took to the air, it was a very nice noise! And there was lots of cranes in this autumn. Throughout the year we have all kinds of owls and as icing on the cake, one eagle family lives here !
